ICRISAT

Hello everyone,

                                 I am Deepak D. Dhole, and this is my first blog on blogger, till now I was just writing poetry, stories, and my traveling stories also, during lecture time. It is my first time I am writing something like it. From the last 5 to 6 month I am thinking about creating a blog wherein poems and stories will be as my content. For a blogger or writer, I think that content is never-less than their loved ones. It is very difficult to find content which will directly affect not only the reader's mind but also their soul, and see where I got my first content for my blog SSGMCE (Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of engineering shegaon) in my college. Content is related to my final year project i.e “DIGITAL FARMING”. 
            As I am not from the farmer’s family, so I am not well versed in this field but I have many friends whose family with the source of income is farming. So I get a little bit attracted as well as attached to the Indian farmers. In India, every year 1.5 million engineers get their degrees, suppose from this only 0.2 million are going to work on digital farming viz good enough to increase the productivity of Indian farming.
                                                                                  Coming to the point direct, I introduce you with “ICRISAT”(International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics).

What is an ICRISAT?

The ICRISAT is an international organization with the mission to find ways to reduce poverty, hunger, malnutrition and environmental degradation. As you all are well known for these problems, nowadays in India these problems are increasing. We know many NGOs and communities are working on it but, what they are doing? NGOs are working just like speed breakers, they can only slash this process but can not completely eradicate them. If you are helping these farmers, you are indirectly helping to minimize such problems. The youth of today's generation are not willing to prefer farming due to the bad experiences regarding farming faced by their families. And the majority of young farmers are unaware of the new methods hence, they are inclined towards the traditional method of farming in-turn resulting in a decrease in the yields of farms.

1-Weather forecasting

                                 Most of the time, crops are damaged due to excessive rainfall, and also due to lack of water. So it is very useful to know the weather forecast before planting, resulting in farmers can decide that environmental conditions are suitable for sowing and other farming activities or not.

2-Strong database

                                ICRISAT having strong databases from all over the world, as it is working with eight more countries leaving India having a wide range of partners.

3-Computer vision

                           This world is currently in computer vision, computer vision is his mind for ICRISAT,

                          As mentioned above International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-arid Tropics is a non-profit and non-political organization, doing agriculture research for rural development. It was founded in 1972 by a consortium of organization convened by the “Ford” and the “Rockefeller” foundation. ICRISAT carries out the agriculture research for rural development in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa with a large bandwidth of partners all over Asia and Africa. It is located @ Telangana, Patancheru, and Hyderabad whereas it has Hyderabad as its headquarter in India. It carries out there search on some highly nutritious crops that are Chana, Bajara, Jowar, Bhuiimung (groundnut), Arhar, etc. Also, develop viable farming for dry land with effective management of natural resources.

                              As mentioned above ICRISAT provides a strong database to the user which will help in maintaining crop growth. Due to the advancement in technology, the problem such as weak network, costliness, and other communication barriers had overcome, resulting in easy access of having E-devices(smart-phones), there is network availability even in remote areas also. these devices are affordable, easy to use it.                           ICRISAT will introduce farmers with new technology so that they will get well familiar with technology and also to increase the yields(productive efficient farming) of farms.
Get involved to help the nation I will suggest you all get involved in this program because any organization without communication is not fulfill all requirements but if you are using that you were helping them too, to increase their database and also help your society.
